The Great Lady Madrid Cheesecake Odyssey: A Love Story in Three Minis and One Matcha Miracle Be me. Lying in a dingy Bay Area hotel room, hundreds of miles from my wife, my kids, and anything resembling a decent meal, doing the thing every road warrior does at 9pm when the walls start closing in: googling "good cheesecake near me" like it's a lifeline instead of a dessert search. And that's when Lady Madrid found me. Basque cheesecake. A phrase I'd never heard before despite considering myself a fairly seasoned cheesecake connoisseur. Years of sampling, judging, comparing, and this style had somehow slipped past me entirely. Naturally I needed it immediately. Naturally I could not have it immediately. They operate out of a shared kitchen space, keep availability tight to protect quality, and are apparently working toward a brick and mortar someday. So instead of cheesecake, I got a preorder window and a promise. Lady Madrid moved in and set up permanent residence in my brain, rent free, for the next several weeks. Round Two: The Return of Despair (and Opportunity) Fast forward about a month. Different trip, same dingy hotel room energy, same existential spiral of "why am I here

We were looking online for a place that sells Basque cheesecakes andβwhat a pleasant surpriseβwe found this spot. We ordered the classic one, and it was absolutely deliciousβthe best I've had. The flavor wasn't overly sweet; it was spot-on, with a wonderfully smooth, cloud-like texture. Guillermo was very kind to us and gave us a sample of the *dulce de leche* version, which was also incredibly tasty. But the classic one was simply perfect. Highly recommended! π

What a great cheesecake! I picked this up from one of their pop-ups at Dolores Deluxe. The cheese and the cream flavor are very well balanced, and I loved the texture. Itβs been a while since Iβve had such a good cheesecake, so Iβm really glad I stopped by. My regret is only getting one mini, because it was gone as soon as I opened it!

Delicious basque style cheesecake. I especially liked the original basque, but you canβt go wrong with italian pistachio or dolce de leche! Recommend trying them all!

This is by far the best cheesecake Iβve tried in the US, let alone the Bay Area. It is creamy, rich in flavour and not overly sweet. Just hits the perfect spot. Iβll be getting my cheesecakes here from now on! If you are in SF and celebrating something or just want to try a great Spanish-style basque cheesecake, trust this place, it wonβt disappoint!
